Honest Universal Kids Resort review incoming....

We saw so many polarizing comments online, we wanted to experience it ourselves from a family with young kids' perspective (our girls are 7&5) to give you our review. Universal Kids Resort #hosted us but that's not effecting our honesty below...

💛this park is made for kids ages 3-8 and it shows... in a thoughtful way. When we go to traditional parks we wait in long lines most of the day and there aren't alot of spots for littles to get their wiggles out. Here, just about every land has a play area and/or splash pad which is so welcomed. The girls were constantly asking to go to the next one. Even over the rides.

💛yes more shade would be lovely but we go to the theme parks in Orlando in the summer and we honestly weren't that phased by the heat. There are way more shaded areas and air conditioned spots than we were seeing online. There are at least three indoor dining locations (quick service) and the queues are mainly shaded with fans. Plus it's easy to stay hydrated with ice water from every Coke Freestyle machine. This park in the cooler months is going to be a dream!!

💛the Team Members blew us away!! They were all incredibly kind, kid-focused and filled with southern hospitality. We didn't have a bad interaction all day. And it wasn't because of our media badge. We saw how the Team Members were treating everyone and it was so refreshing. The girls kept leaving Team Member interactions and telling me "wow, everyone is so kind!!"

💛the Trolltastic: Concert Countdown show is so cute (and shaded and cool). Definitely don't miss that- seeing Delta Dawn & Mr. Dinkles on stage was such a highlight. Plus there's an indoor Trolls dance party too.

💛size wise, the park is very manageable for littles. Not too big and each themed area is a nice size for kiddos to walk through without being overwhelmed.

we were at the park most of the day and did lots of taste testing, character meet and greets, playground adventures, rides, splash pad time, shade breaks, and shopping. We had a full day but still didn't experience it all.

💛most of the rides are spinning which my crew doesn't love, so we focused on the non spinny rides like Shrek & Fiona's Happily Ogre After (which had so much heat online, and yes if you're expecting a dark ride with a Shrek animatronic this isn't that, but my girls loved that they could "drive" the vehicle and the displays were few but didn't feel as sparsely placed as reviews showed online).

💛the Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster was so good. We loved the speed and intensity, perfect for littles, and SpongeBob's Jellyfish Fields Jamboree

- akin to the flying elephant ride, but it seats a family of 4 instead of only 2.

💛I asked Team Members but wasn't able to figure out a way to see showtimes and wait times in advance (like in an app for planning purposes day of). The only way to see showtimes and wait times is to walk to the front of the attraction or show and the sign in front will tell you, or they do have some screens throughout the park that list them all.

💛the lines were way shorter than we expected.

Likely because so many tamilies were spread out at splash pads and playgrounds. Not sure if lines will stay like that but we had little to no wait for every attraction we did.

If you're looking for a Universal park filled with dark rides and animatronics and thrill, you'd be better of at Universal Orlando or Universal Hollywood.

But if you're a family of littles, particularly who live in the Dallas area (the annual passes (which are currently sold out) start at only $129 without parking and $164 with) we definitely recommend visiting. Our family had so much fun. We're always down to travel for a theme park and unique experience and this is one we'd love to come back to experience more of! Perfectly suited for kids ages 3-8! It's the shows and movies of their generation brought to life in a scale made for them!

Drop your questions below and I'm happy to answer any I can from our experience.
