Stepping foot into Dollywood is like the theme park equivalent of a warm hug IMO! There's nothing quite like it! This year I was selected to be one of five Dollywood Storyteller Ambassadors and it's my honor and privilege to share as many tips and tricks as I can you help you prep for your Dollywood trip to make it the best experience possible!!

I can't believe it's already Dollywood's 40th Anniversary season and this year is already shaping up to be one you won't want to miss! Opening weekend kicked off the I Will Always Love You Music Festival running from March 14 - April 13, 2025. It's known that the Dreamer-In-Chief Dolly Parton herself likes to make an appearance on opening weekend particularly for the Passholder Preview day . This year, we were able to see her at the media event (pinch me!) and wave to her at the parade in the afternoon. It was SO incredible to see her in person. She was a riot during her talk on stage and her quick wit made me love her even more! She's truly an American treasure!

The I Will Always Love You Music Festival is such a fun way to start the 40th Anniversary season. This festival, named after the iconic Dolly Parton song, celebrates her legendary career, her hometown roots, and the profound impact she’s had on the world. If you're planning to visit Dollywood, here's a rundown of the festival's highlights that you absolutely can't miss!

1. Dolly's Musical Legacy
The highlight of the "I Will Always Love You" Festival is, of course, Dolly Parton herself. Throughout the event, guests can enjoy live musical performances that honor Dolly’s legendary catalog. Local musicians, along with Dollywood’s talented park performers, take the stage to sing her hits, creating an atmosphere of pure country magic.
2. Heartwarming Tribute Show
One of the standout experiences is the heartwarming tribute show From the Heart - The Life and Music of Dolly Parton is dedicated to Dolly's legacy and absolutely a must watch. At first I wasn't sure if my kids (6 & 3) would be able to sit through a 50 minute show without an intermission, but they were so engaged and the show was amazing. It runs through June 7, 2025 so don't miss it! Visitors are treated to a moving production that highlights the songs and stories from Dolly’s incredible career. Expect to hear not only her chart-topping songs but also lesser-known gems that showcase the depth of her songwriting ability. My girls have been singing "Something Fishy" since we've seen the show. It's definitely a must-see for any Dolly fan.
3. Exclusive Dolly-Themed Merch
The shopping at Dollywood will always be some of the best. It's different than your standard theme park shopping with hints of southern home furnishings, one of a kind artisanal offerings, Dolly's own makeup line and more sparkly clothes and accessories than you can imagine!

4. Delicious Southern Cuisine
No visit to Dollywood is complete without indulging in the delicious Southern-inspired cuisine that the park is known for. During the "I Will Always Love You" Festival, special menu items are introduced in honor of Dolly’s favorite dishes. Think down-home favorites like cornbread, fried chicken, and classic Tennessee barbecue. Don’t forget to save room for Dollywood's famous cinnamon bread, a recipe that is as beloved as Dolly is.
5. FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN
One of the best things about Dollywood is that it’s an experience for the whole family, and this festival is no exception. From live performances to interactive activities, there’s something for everyone.

The "I Will Always Love You" Festival at Dollywood is a heartfelt and joyous celebration of Dolly Parton’s career, her charitable contributions, and the culture of her beloved Smoky Mountains. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Dolly or new to her music, this festival offers something truly special. Be sure to plan your trip around this unforgettable event—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
