Hey there, fellow Star Wars fans and theme park adventurers! 🌟If you're anything like me—a busy mom who adores both her kiddos and her lightsabers—you’ve probably had May the 4th circled on your calendar since, well, last year! Whether you're heading to a galaxy far, far away (aka Disneyland or Disney World) or celebrating at home, I’ve got you covered with some fun, heartfelt ideas that’ll make this Star Wars Day extra special for the whole family.
Let’s make memories that rival the Battle of Endor (but with possibly fewer Ewoks and plenty more snacks).

🌌 1. Dress the Part (Because Why Not?)
Nothing brings the spirit of May the 4th to life like themed outfits! Whether it’s full-on cosplay or just a cute Star Wars tee, dressing up adds magic to the day. My go-to is some Rey hair and a Cakeworthy dark side shirt💁♀️

Pro tip for the parks: Dress cool and comfy. Florida heat doesn’t hold back. So if you or your kids want to wear more layered look, I highly recommend bringing a casual Star Wars look to change into to make the heat more tolerable but still magical.

🎢 2. Theme Park Fun: Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Must-Dos
If you’re lucky enough to be celebrating at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge, here are my must-do mom-approved picks:
Build a Droid at the Droid Depot – It’s a blast for kids and surprisingly emotional for adults (yes, I cried).
Grab a Blue Milk – It’s weird, it’s tasty, and it’s a rite of passage.
Ride Rise of the Resistance – Worth every second. Just try not to tear up when you board the Resistance transport. Again... guilty.
Photo ops with characters – Stormtroopers love to sass, and Chewie gives the best hugs.

Bonus tip: If all of your kids aren't ready to ride Rise of the Resistance or Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run, doing either a child swap or single rider line would give you/the rest of your party a faster way of getting on the ride.

🍿 3. Star Wars Movie Marathon at Home
Not making it to the parks? No problem! Create a cozy “home theater” experience. Set up blankets, turn down the lights, and stream your favorite Star Wars movies or shows.
Snack ideas:
Wookiee Cookies (make it easy on yourself and grab a packaged oatmeal cream pie and put a piece of chocolate across it to give some Chewie looks)
Lightsaber pretzel rods (let the kids pick their color)
Popcorn with edible glitter = “Galactic Pop”

💫 4. Crafts, Games & Activities for the Littles
Turn your living room into your own Jedi training academy with these simple, sweet ideas:
Lightsaber craft – Pool noodles + duct tape = hours of (safe) fun.
Star Wars Bingo or Trivia – Keep it fun for all ages. Use little toys or candy for prizes.
LEGO building challenge – Create your own droid or spaceship!

🧡 5. Teach the Ways of the Force (a.k.a. What Star Wars Really Means)
More than anything, I love using Star Wars Day as a chance to talk to my kiddos about the real lessons in the galaxy—hope, resilience, and teamwork. Whether it’s Leia’s courage, Luke’s growth, or Grogu’s quiet and adorable strength, there’s something beautiful for everyone to connect with.

May the 4th isn’t just for super fans—it’s for families, fun, and a little magic. So whether you’re navigating hyperspace or your own living room, take a moment to enjoy the adventure. From one theme park-loving mama to another: May the Force (and the fun) be with you. Always. 💫
With love, A fellow Star Wars loving Mom ✨
