Fly Like a Girl with JetBlue – Our Orlando Experience

This weekend we had the chance to do something really special — JetBlue invited us to their Fly Like a Girl event in Orlando. It’s designed for kids ages 8–14 to explore aviation careers, meet female role models in the industry, and get hands-on with everything from aircraft tours to ground operations. My girls aren’t quite old enough yet to jump into the official learning stations, but they still got an early peek at all the excitement — and wow, did it spark their imaginations.

Walking Into the Hangar

From the moment we stepped into the JetBlue hangar, you could feel the energy from the littles getting ready to explore. They were excited, curious, and wide-eyed as they got to see everything up close and personal. Even though my girls weren’t part of the official age group for the formal event, JetBlue offered an early session with littles to get to explore the spaces and ask questions of the team members.

Little Eyes, Big Dreams

One of my favorite parts of the day was watching my daughters soak it all in. At their age, it’s not about learning the technical side — it’s about planting the seed that this world could be theirs one day, too.

Why This Event Matters

Aviation can feel like such a mysterious career path — you see the planes in the sky, but most of us don’t grow up knowing how people actually get there. JetBlue’s Fly Like a Girl event helps break down that wall, showing our girls that there are so many possibilities in this field. From pilots and mechanics to flight operations and ground crew — the sky really is the limit.

For my family, it was also a reminder of the power of representation. My daughters saw women leading, teaching, and flying — and that made all the difference.

Tallulah loved getting to interview JetBlue's CFO Ursula Hurley.

Looking Ahead

I’m grateful they got this early glimpse into a world that felt both magical and possible.

So thank you, JetBlue, for hosting such an inspiring day in Orlando. I have a feeling you’ve just set two little girls on a flight path they’ll never forget.
